How to become a successful Real Estate Agent.

Step 1: Find the best Real Estate Agent in your Neighborhood:

Finding the best real estate agent and working with them for free i.e be there intern, I know you will be doing a lot of thing which you don’t like, like getting coffee, shredding papers even getting their dry cleaning but doing this will make you realize if the real estate brokerage is really for you, do you like working in real estate with very low risk.
But if you do right, by that real estate agent/s, they’re going to hire you on their team.

Step 2: Get your Real Estate License:

Now is the time when you’re already serious about your profession and it’s time to get yourself a license. You can ask your mentor or search on google about how to get a real estate license. Nowadays it is very easy to get one, most of the states have the legal requirement to give the licensing exam of minimum 18 years of age and 180 hours of studies. As you can do it remotely or joining any specific institute as well so it is easy.

Step 3: Join a Team:

Getting a real estate license is not enough, you have to get it sponsored by the brokerage so you can practice real estate legally but will that be it?
No you shouldn’t be wandering alone in this new field and giving up in the end. Try finding a team and this backs up step 1, because you can join the team of your mentor or he can help you find a good team as well. Being with the right team solves 70% of your initial problems as you have someone who can take care of you and help you with the baby steps in this market.

Step 4: Create your Influence:

Now once you have everything necessary you should be looking to buy or sell right? But now what are you going to sell? And how are you going to find the right clients?

So you have to create your influence, for that your first step should always be the Warm Circle (people you have spent lives with), i.e. Mom, Dad, Foster Mom, Siblings, Step Siblings, Friends, Colleagues, Social Media friends etc. In 90% of the cases you will be getting your first client from this circle and make sure you serve them well so they can recommend their loved ones to you too.

Then focus on the Cold circle, the people you met at your office or in a restaurant and give out your business cards.

Step 5: Discipline:

Discipline is really important for every business or profession, so you have to make sure you are spending your time, money and energy at the right place.

So make sure you are trying, you are doing and you are keeping what you have gained.

Step 6: Always be open toward Referrals:

You should always be open for referrals and asking for referrals from your happy clients because believe it or not it is one of the best ways to expand your network. Alot of realtors also give you referral and will be willing to take a chunk of the referral fee from you upon closing. By this way yes you are giving a little piece of your commission to them but it is expanding your business in many ways.

I would personally suggest joining hands with Regentology which is not just going to supplement your business with referrals but also will be doing marketing for you in your geo-targeted areas with no monthly cost involved, just 25% upon closing of the prospects. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Step 7: Follow Up – Follow Through – Follow Back:

These 3 F’s are really important to follow as this says all about being a realtor.

Following up with every person you meet and adding more agents in your network is really important because you want to be the first person to come in people’s mind when they think about buying, selling or renting any property for themselves or their friends.

Follow Through is the easiest part of being the realtor but mostly people fail doing it. It means you have to do what you are supposed to do. So if you have any inquiry about any apartment or house regarding buying or selling. Or you meet a new person at a party and they want to buy a property, shoot them a listing or send them an email or whatever you are claiming. Follow through means doing what you are claiming to be good at.

Follow Back, this is the key to success in real estate. You should always be following people. Regarding the query they might have, advice they wanted from you or even if they have bought something from you in the past. Always FOLLOW BACK.

Step 8: Practice & Patience:

Yes, it will not be like you got your real estate license and all of a sudden you have dozens of clients who wants to sell and buy through you. You have to build your value, constantly remain on the top priority list and should be expanding your knowledge about real estate.
And one thing which agents always forget, be patient.
So practice hard, be patient & millions of dollars worth of properties are waiting for you.
